Castle Game

I can't get enough of Sportplan. It's given me back the enthusiasm...

DESCRIPTION

  1. Players use their chosen technique to try to hit the "Castle" (Cone, Hula Hoop, Combo of the two).
  2. Must toss or hit the ball above a chosen height (e.g. Head/Net Height).
  3. Players get a point if the ball lands in or on the target.  A player also gets a point if their opponent does not catch or contact the ball before its second bounce.

Modifications for chosen techniques:

  1. Catch and toss the ball (In proper forearm or overhead pass technique)
  2. Catch the ball, toss to yourself and perform the forearm or overhead pass
  3. Forearm or Overhead pass to yourself to gain control and then perform the skill again to attack
  4. Perform either the forearm or overhead pass immediately (only a single contact)

COACHING POINTS

  1. Players want to stay low in their ready position covering as much space as possible and staying opposite their opponent. 
  2. Use shuffle steps to get to the ball.

Modifications:

  1. Add a "home" cone for each player to return to between each of their contacts with the ball.
