Players will each pick up a racket and stand in space on one side of the court. Players will be taught about the continental grip. This is 4 fingers on the underside of the racket and thumb on top creating a u shape between the index finger and thumb.
Players will then be instructed to juggle the ball on the racket whilst keeping in control and should aim to reach 20 bounces as a benchmark. After this players will juggle the ball but let the ball bounce before tossing it up in the air. Players should again aim for 20 touches of the ball. These skills will help the players get used to the grip of the racket and hoe the tennis ball reacts to the strings.
