DRILL TYPE: Relay
A great relay to work on ball and racket control.
1. Divide your players into two teams, and have them line up behind the baseline.
2. Each team should have only 1 racket, but each team member should hold a ball. Place 2 buckets at the net in both service boxes for each team.
3. The first player on each team will start the relay with the racket and balancing the ball on the strings while running to the net.
4. The player dumps the ball in the bucket and returns to the baseline and pass the racket to the next player and the relay continues until everyone has a turn.
Tips:
1. For younger children use bean bags.
2. Explain to the children to work slowly and not rush.
Safety:
1. Ensure teams are well spread out.
