Pick your spot Shooting - Foot...

Depending on where the pass is played to players must shoot in a particular area of the goal. If the pass is played wide the shot should be driven into the opposite corner of the goal (so a feed to right should be scored in the left corner of the goal). If the pass is central the shooter should not hit the ball with their laces but instead place the ball in a corner of their choice.

2 strikers, 3 shots Shooting -...

Have a mannequin on the edge of the penalty circle, and another in line with it out, out at the left hand corner of the penalty box.Players positioned on cones 1, 2 and 3 as shown in the diagram, each with a ball.Player 1 dribbles a ball to the mannequin in front of them, feints one way then moves the ball the other way to shoot. The Player then runs back towards the next mannequin and receives the ball from Player 2. Player 2 runs up to the right of the mannequin and Player 1 lays the ball off to them to take a shot.Both players then run in to receive a cross from Player 3, on the outside right. (Player 1 takes front post, Player 2 back)

Set up as shown with cones evenly spaced out. The distance between the cones can be modified depending on your players abilities. Player(s) dribbles through the cone performing 2 touches with the interior and 2 touches with the exterior.

Receiving the pass - 2v1 Shoot...

Player 1 comes short to receive the ball from player 2; player 1 dummies and spins out left. Player 3 comes to take ball and passes back across for player 1 to shoot. Player 3 then goes to far post for rebounds.

Set up two goals, one at either end of the half pitch and two narrow channels (with cones), one to the left and the other to the right of the goals.Players must dribble with the ball using both feet through the channel towards goal. When they are within 15m of the goal they should prepare to shoot, with a shot across the goalkeeper into the far corner.

Set up 3 cones (or poles) spaced as shown in the diagram.Have a mannequin positioned on either side of the middle, just before the penalty box.Have a Player positioned on the backline to the left side in the penalty box with a ball.Have another Player (W) positioned out wide to the right side with a ball.A Player starts halfway between the centre circle and goal; dribbles the ball around the cones and in between the mannequins to take a shot.After first shot, Player quickly moves around the left hand mannequin and gets a cross from the wide player. Then the Player recovers around the right hand mannequin to receive the ball from the player on the goal line.Rotate the players around ever play (shooter > winger > backline player > shooter line)

Players with a ball each and have to dribble the ball around the area using both feet and any additional skills they have already learned. i.e. turns, step overs etc.

Start with both feet inside one of the rungs and jump both feet outside the ladder (so the ladder is between both feet) then jump with both feet inside the next rung.

Set up as shown with cones evenly spaced out. The distance between the cones can be modified depending on your players abilities. Player(s) dribbles through the cone performing 1 touch with the sole of the right foot dragging the ball across their body and 1 touch with the sole of the left foot to bring the ball back across to the other side.

Shoot, Recover, Finish Crossin...

Make a pitch from the edge of one penalty box to the same the other end, full width. Set up a goal with a GK at each end.A group of Attackers start in the centre circle. A group of Defenders start offset to the left of them.The coach feeds the ball in to and Attacker and they run forward to a 1 vs 1 situation with 1 Defender. The Attacker should take on the Defender and attempt to score.Once the Attacker has taken a shot they recover in an arc to receive a ball cross in from the right side.As this is going on, when the GK at the other end has seen the coach pass the first ball then they pass the ball to a player in the fullback position out to the right (F).F passes the ball down the line to a winger (W), who will be the one to cross the ball in after the Attacker has taken their first shot.At the same time the exact same is happening at the other end of the pitch.Players move positions:The Attacker becomes the F for the other side, attacking in the other direction. F follows their pass to become the W, the W joins the line of Attackers. Rotate the Defenders after 5 minutes. Play different progressions/variations for about 30 minutes in total.Includes breaks for water and feedback to the players

Objective: Application of running with the ball in a small sided game format.Detail:Use a box - box area on a pitch or set up 50 x 70 (older players).Split up the players into 6 v 2 in 2 end zones.Players in group 1 run with the ball to group 2 across the central zone.2 defenders enter the zones once the ball and players have arrived.

Set up as shown with cones evenly spaced out. The distance between the cones can be modified depending on your players abilities. Players dribble through the cones backwards performing toe taps to get through the cones without touching them, neither with the ball nor their feet.

Two attacking players against one defender. The player who starts with the ball passes the ball square to the other player. This player runs towards the defender (isolating the defender) allowing the other player to loop round and overlap them to receive the ball in the space created. After receiving the pass this player should then have a shot at goal.

Set up 3 service points around the goal. Make sure one is central and two others either sideOne GK working. Servers should take it in turns to drill the ball from the floor to the working GK.GK saves/catches the ball and returns it to where the kick came from.GK returns quickly to set position for the next shot.Good for outfield players to work at striking the ball at the target too.

Hello, my name is Wisdom and I'm goalkeeper for two teams. I was wondering if anyone knew any drills or tips that would help me gradually become better on diving on my weaker side. There will rare times where I do save shots on my weaker side but there are also times where I don't save those shots.I was also wondering if there any tips or drills that can help my goal kicks from the ground.
