I would like to develop a program that athletes can use during the season, to build strength in the most important areas for a volleyball player.
A season would be per iodized so as to maximize the strength training of an individual. Each person would be assessed and then a program of periodization for the player, often maximum strength is done when there is a basic strength program started for the younger athletes they need to exercise caution when lifting weights, use of resistance bands, tubing and I have seen a new machine that is the cat's meow for jumping power which is altogether just a resistance pulley you could create for your students with tubing. Relative body strength could include plank and various medicine ball lifts in squat position as well as upper body conditioning for youth which would take the form of push ups or modified push ups.
I like to create a circuit training set of exercises that involve side jumps and power movements for the legs on stairs and often plyometrics on boxes that create reactive power and really combine the speed and power components. keep the movement specific to the skill as well and even a drill with the body weight as the maximum can have benefits. Weights are introduced when yo you plan to have greater capacity to have force exerted over the time of the skill. Weighted spike Balls are only useful if they are not overused and I like to use a sand filled ball to create the same effect just bouncing and throwing this does the job. One of my athletes also was a javelin thrower and she used a pulley connected to the hand and would mimic the actual movement with this modality connected to her, sprinters also utilize the power specific workouts for their capacity to have more power endurance which is a component of volleyball players movements.
This is not exhaustive there are so many adaptions for the volleyball player who wants to be a power athlete, have fun!
