Defense positioning.

Has anyone heard of middle middle 2 by 2 defense? If yes, do you like it?Thanks.

Hi Steve,

We`ve found that the middle-middle approach is good for about 90% of the attacks, however can get frustrating when the attacks are not within the majority that come to the middle of the court.

Putting your best defender in the middle makes sense to scoop up the majority of balls, however playing this way, you need to make sure your left and right back players are confident in reading whether the attacker can hit the ball towards their corner.

It`s best to gauge whether you expect the opposition to be hitting sharp into the corners. If you think this is the case, then perhaps moving your best defender to the outer positions would perhaps be best, or making them drift that way.

Try it out and let your players give some feedback in regards to how they think that can communicate with one another to have the court covered.

I hope this helps!
