DESCRIPTION

Step 1

Attacker with the ball:

  • Facing the basket on either the left or right side of the backboard.

Attacker without the ball:

  • Behind the ball handler.

Step 2

Attacker with the ball:

  • Throws the ball of the backboard (Down | Up, simulating how the ball would naturally bounce of the backboard).
  • Once the Attacker has the ball they must then shout "BALL!".

Attacker without the ball:

  • Once the attacker sees the ball coming down, they must then sprint to either wing. (Cones will be strategically placed along the wings to help guide the attacker to the sideline).

Step 3

Attacker with the ball:

  • Must pass the ball to the sprinting attacker or dribble out of the key and pass the ball to the sprinting attacker as fast as possible.

Attacker without the ball:

  • Once at the cone the attacker must pivot and find the ball.
  • Once the attacker gets the pass, they then must sprint (Full Sprint) to the basket for a layup.

  1. The success of the counterattack is determined by the speed of the first pass.
  2. The ball needs to be out of the key area as soon as possible.
  3. The first two players need to be out on the wings as soon as possible.
  4. Do not make a pass in the middle make all passes to the wings.
