My second lesson is focusing on creating space to shoot.
i will start my session by doing a simple warm up which will include, running from one end of the court to the other for a minute as fast as they can. i will then move on by doing some stretches. ( hamstring, quads, calves, wrists and ankles.)
we will then start by doing some basic shooting. To develop the players and make progress we may start shooting from different angles.
After my warm up and stretches i will be moving onto my first drill which is called "one dribble pull up" this drill involves a hard dribble of the ball into a wide open space which helps with the momentum to get ready for your shot.
The second part of this drill is making it a long dribble. you need to make sure you have enough space. the lastpart of this drill is making sure you have enough elevating straight up and straight down.
moving on to another drill which is called the "step back". it starts off the same as one dribble pull up with a hard long dribble and having to stop your momentum from going forward, but then you have to push yourself back in the opposite direction creating as much space as possible and then take your shot.
Create a resolution to develop your coaching confidence by seizing the opportunity to discover new drills, turn ideas into action and seek advice from the coaching community.
World Rugby has reportedly conceded Aaron Smith's disallowed try in the World Cup final should have stood.
