DESCRIPTION

Player one walks through the court while player two must follow them, dribbling the ball with one hand as they do so.

COACHING POINTS

Ensure Player 1 follows Player 2

Swap regularly

VARIATIONS:

Swap the dribbling hand
Increase the tempo

TASKS:

no.1 does a move and no.2 must copy
figure of 8 through the legs
around trunk
across legs
throw the ball, clap hands and catch

5 Player Warm Up:

As Player 1 moves direction, players 2,3,4,5 shuffle around shadowing his movement. When Player 1 changes direction, the other players must do so too, staying in the box formation.

3 Grass roots

Jailbreak:

One team runs clockwise round the inside of the circle with the other team running anti-clockwise around the outside of the circle (blue cones).

When the coach shouts 'Jailbreak' the players inside the inner circle try to 'escape' to outside the 10m x 10m square (yellow cones).

The inside team scores a point for each 'jailbreaker' - swap over. If you have an odd number of players give the defenders the extra man.

2 Warm Up

Get up, stand up!:

Throw the ball in the air using two hands, move to where the ball is coming down sit down on the floor and catch the ball.

When you have caught the ball throw the ball up in the air and get up ready to catch it.

Dig Volley Roll Warm Up:

Volley the ball to your partner who digs the ball to themselves then volleys the ball back to you, whilst they are doing that you do a dive, roll or something else then they do the same as you dig and volley. Do this for a set time or number of good contacts.
