DESCRIPTION

A free throw game you can play is to ask your players to line up 5 feet away from the front of the rim. The coach will be under the basket.

Each player will shoot a shot 1 at a time.

Every shot will get evaluated by the coach and given a score out of 5.

5 being a perfect score.

COACHING POINTS

Shooting tips:

  • Shooting hand is under the ball supporting it
  • Ball should be positioned above and in front of head
  • Fingers push through and behind the ball upon release

Points can be deducted for:

  • Players shooting when not balanced
  • No follow through
  • Elbow pointing out
  • Eyes not looking at the basket
  • Knees not bent
