Each player will pick up a racket and spread out as the grip is explained. Players will then be guided through the swing of the forehand. Each player will perform shadow swings to get used to the technique and feel of the stroke.

At this point in the session the players will be eager to pick up their racket and play. It is unlikely that they will be able to have a ralley as a beginner so racket skills are a good way of familiarising players with a racket.
