Pass and Move Passing and Rece...

Set up a 3 vs. 3 game in a quarter of the pitch. Each team elects a goalkeeper. This player is allowed to use their hands in the defensive end zone. They are not allowed to stay inside the defensive area and must also go forward as an outfield player during attacks on the opposing goal. A team must make at least 2 passes before they can shoot on goal. Award 3 points for every successful pass and 5 points for every goal. The first team to 21 points wins.

Through the cones passing Pass...

With one ball between two players have to try and pass the ball through the goals 10 times, without making a mistake. You can run this as a competition between pairs or simply use it as a challenge to get players to focus on their passing accuracy.

The Diagonal Pass Passing and ...

Players work in pairs, with one ball per pair. The first player makes a square pass across the grid to their partner before running onto the cone ahead.Their partner then plays a pass diagonally across the grid back to their partner who is looking to run onto the ball. The player who started the drill then plays square across the grid again to their partner running onto the ball.The players work their way up to the top of the grid.

Passing by Numbers Passing and...

Players number themselves from one-eight (or as many numbers as there are players). Players must then pass in numerical order. Although they can attempt to memorise the passing order it's far more beneficial if the players call out and communicate to one another. So once player two has the ball, player 3 should be calling the receive the pass.

3 players run down the pitch, passing and interchanging to finish with a shot at goal. Player in the middle starts with the ball. They pass the ball to one of the outside players and overlaps around them. The second player passes the ball to the player on the other side and overlaps around them. Each player receives the ball from the same player every time and they should overlap around the player they pass to.

2 touch 3's Passing Passing an...

Set up as shown with 2 cones (the disatance of which between can be modified depending on ability or challenge you want to set your players). 1 player on each cone and 1 player in the middle, 1 ball between the 3. Players always take 2 touches, the ball is moved from one end, into the middle man and then to the other end before the sequence is repeated from the other side.

Set up as shown. The player in the middle starts with the ball. They play a diagonal ball into space so that the player to the right can run onto it. That player now plays a square ball to the player far left who plays a 1st time ball to the middle player.

World Cup Control Passing and ...

Group in pairs. One ball between the pair. Repeat in 5 other areas for a total of 12 players.Player 1 passes the ball across the area to player 2, who must control the ball with the inside of his foot. Player 2 then passes the ball back across the area. Player 1 repeats the practice. The object of the game is to roll the ball over the end line with out the opposing player stopping it. To score a goal, the ball must travel below waist height. Each player should pick his favorite national team and represent that country. The first country to score 5 goals wins the World Cup.Progression: If you pass the ball back first time and score, you get 2 goals.

Players are 10 metres apart facing each other.<br>Player 1 starts with the ball.<br>Player 1 rolls the ball to player 2 who passes the ball back with instep using 1 touch.<br>After 10 repetitions swap roles.

Attacking Soft Targets Passing...

Create 5 x 5 yard squares in corners of the grid. Play 4 v 4.<br />The red team has possession of the ball. The object of the game is to play the ball into one of the two attacking boxes for a player to run into and control the ball with the sole of the foot. The play is conditioned to encourage one touch passing and switching play. The red team is attacking to the right side of the diagram.

Players pass and then move to find an empty cone. Players should take 1 touch. With bigger numbers in your training session you can increase the number of cones and the number of balls accordingly.

Split your players into three equal sized teams, with two teams starting inside the area and the third spread around the outside of the grid. The team on the outside of the grid are neutral players. When they receive the ball they must pass back to a player on the same team that originally passed to them. The two teams inside the area play a possession game. The challenge for each team is to score 10 (or more) consecutive passes to score a goal.

Put the players in pairs with one ball between 2 The players should try and pass the ball slightly wide of each other. The receiving player has to play the ball with the inside of their non kicking foot across their body own body with their first touch and then kick the ball back to the other player with their strong foot.

Players start 10 metres apart in 2 lines facing each other. 1 ball per pair. Get the players passing to each other using the instep pass.

The first player plays a one-two pass with player 2, who passes back in front of player 1's looping run. Player 1 then dribbles with the ball either to the half-way line or the by-line where they then: either pass to player 3 on the half-way line who then dribbles to the outside of the 16 yard box and shoot or cross the ball into the box for the attacking player to attack.

Players are in pairs. <BR>Player 2 starts with the ball, they dribble the ball in a diagonal line to the opposite cone. <BR>Player 1 make a diagonal run towards the opposite cone. <BR>As the player with the ball reaches the cone they play a reverse ball to their partner.

This fun passing and moving game can be explained in two words - Football Rugby.In order to score a point players must stop the ball in the opposition's try area.To begin with, to encourage passing and moving, this should be done by passing the ball to another player who controls and stops the ball inside the area.

6 players work in an area approximately 30 meters wide, divided in two with a third boxed area at one end. Red team play a 3 v 1 inside the first area but need to look for early deep ball to blue (3) in smaller coned area. The Blue team has also got a player (2) in the centre zone this player can not enter the area where the reds are keeping possession.

Using a square 5x5m, players in pairs run with the ball along one side and pass the ball from left to right by pulling the ball back and moving their feet around the ball to pass. Get players to use both their weaker and stronger feet to pass.

3 players stand around 3 metres apart from one another with one ball between them. They can pass in either direction and should start with two touch football, using strong side footed passes. After a few minutes you can introduce a one touch rule to encourage players to think about where they are going to pass before they even receive the ball.

Player 1 starts with the ball. The ball is played in with pace to the feet of player 2. As the ball is played in player 2 moves to the ball, and with their first touch aim to bring the ball inside and round the defender. The same can be done on the outside towards the touch line.

How accurate are your players long passes? This fun drill lets you find out. Like on an archery board have different target zones - a central 'bull's eye' and then two outer targets. From one side of the pitch to the other players take it in turns to have 4 consecutive cross-field passes, all the time trying to get the ball to land inside the 'bull's eye'.
