What exercises are there for jumping height in volleyball for spiking and blocking?
There is an exercise you can have your players do at home every day especially in off season and you will see an increase 1-4 inches in vertical. Have your player stand parallel to the wall, one in which they cannot jump and reach the ceiling. Have them jump vertically (without any steps) with arm reaching up on the wall as high as they can. They get 3 attempts then mark the highest point with tape or something they can touch. Then the next day they get ten jumps to try and reach their mark. If they do stop and move the mark up 1 inch however, if they do not reach the mark in 10 jumps they try again the next day. Make sure you emphasize the correct form of jumping off their toes, swinging their arms and dropping their butt.
The back row attack adds a powerful offensive dimension that stretches the opposing block and creates scoring opportunities from unexpected positions.
