could someone please advise what is best a one handed backhand or 2 handed. I have a 14 year old girl who has amazing power who has been playing tennis for just over a yr is still doubting the one handed backhand lacks confidence in using it in matches . i would like to know should we continue to persuade her one handed is best but need to explain why. thankyou
well here is my advise to you i Recommend that if she doesn't feel too confortable with one handed backhand let her try to hit a two handed backhand and see which one she would feel more confortable with in tournaments and also in just the fun matches give her like 10 two handed backhand drillz and 10 one handed backhand drillz and ask her which backhand style she feels more confortable with and keep on working on it ... keep up the good work have a good day... or if her one handed backhand is powerfull but she lacks in confidence keep giving her backhand drills until she feels confortable with it ... then she won't have a problem with her backhand anymore ... keep up the good work ...
thanks jospeph, I will encourage her to continue with the one handed backhand. She is extremely powerful and is the only girl at then tennis academy that plys one handed backhands with power. It is improving daily and is getting harder. What we wondered was is a one handed better beacuse u can have better control and able to move it positions better to respond to the ball
well liz yeah what you are wondering is right.. the one handed backhand person has more control then the two handed backhand person why? you ask because one handed backhand person can hit a slice and also can hit the backhand topspin and groundstroke and can easily get to the low balls but the two handed backhand has not much advantage but it has good control of the ball ... by the way good work liz keep working on her backhand if she is improving keep working at it ... have a nice day
thanks for this comment joseph very much appreciated. she has only been playing just over a year does not yet believe in herself but it is getting there great advice take care
