Players start from baseline and sprint to the attack line, at which point they step forwards and backwards either side of the line as fast as possible. Before stepping back or forward, both feet must be on the other side of the line.
In this drill, players train to run fast and adjust their steps to conditions which occur during the match. For example, inaccurate setting makes players step and approach much quicker to jump and spike.
