Tennis: Consistency & Confidence

Thank you very much for the marvellous site.
Nick, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Player stands at the net.
  • Coach stands behind the baseline.
  • Coach hits 2 regular balls and 1 lob.
  • Player hits forehand and backhand volley back to the coach and finishes the overhead to the side.

COACHING POINTS

  • 2 volleys are played back to the coach to show the control over their direction and depth of volleys.
  • An overhead is played with more power and is finished to the side to develop an offensive mindset with every ball that goes up over the player's head.
  • If player is doing well with this task, the coach can hit the ball harder or can stretch player more to the sides on volleys and hit deeper lobs to force player to deal with difficult overhead balls.
