Full Width Stroke Cross Court

Player stands in one corner and the coach feeds a difficult ball to the other corner. Player runs and hits the ball on the run in cross court direction.

Movement

Three cones are set on the deuce side close to the sideline. Player starts from the centre of the baseline. Player sprints to the first cone and imitates forehand stroke. Player recovers back and repeats the same action to the other cones.

Movement

2 teams. One team has only 2 people who are gladiators. The other 4 have to balance the ball on their racquets and put it in the hoop without being tagged. When they are tagged they have to go back to the bucket to start again. Give them 2 minutes then stop.

Movement

Hitting a simple lob while on the move

The coach stands at the centre of the court at the net. He/she then feeds the ball to the player's ad side and lifts the racquet up above their head. The player has to move toward the ball and hit a backhand lob cross court. The aim of this drill is for the player to get the ball to pass above the coach's racquet.

Movement

Jump & Catch

Hula-hoops are set on the left and right side in front of the player. Coach stands in front of the player Player jumps into the left hoop, catches the ball in left hand and lands only on one leg Player throws the ball back to coach and performs the same activity to the right side

Movement

Keep It In The Trams

Both players rally from the service line trying to keep the ball in the tramlines. However Player A must play one forehand then one backhand alternatively. The first player to hit it out of the tramlines wins the point. The first player to 11 points then swap.

Movement

Line and Drop

Movement

Movement

Moving Zones

Court is divided into 3 zones ("Deep" Cones to the baseline, "Medium" Cones to the service line; "Short" Service box). Coach feeds random balls. Player has to react and make proper decisions related to the zones. If the ball is deep, player has to move back and hit higher cross court. If the ball is medium, player can make own decision and hit neutral or aggressive shot. If the ball is short, player has to move forward and hit aggressively down the line or make a drop shot.

Movement

Necessary Splits

Player performs split step jumps forwards between the cones. Once they reach the end cone, they will turn and repeat this back to where they started.

Movement

Open Stance With Help

Movement

Over the Shoulder

Players stand on the base line, with one player in front of another. Player two (the player without the ball) has their back to their partner. Player 1 can throw the ball when they like. As soon as player 2 sees the ball coming over their head they must react and move to catch it (preferably its second bounce) and then return to their partner in order to repeat.
