DESCRIPTION

  • Hula-hoops are set on the left and right side in front of the player. Coach stands in front of the player
  • Player jumps into the left hoop, catches the ball in left hand and lands only on one leg
  • Player throws the ball back to coach and performs the same activity to the right side

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, player works on balance on one leg and coordination to catch the ball in the air
  • Being able to control separately lower and upper body is of utmost importance in tennis development so kids should work on this aspect in simple environment
  • For more advanced players, coach can throw random balls to the left or right side to add reaction factor to the activity
