Create Space & Hit

Player stands in the centre of the court. Coach feeds balls from the basket to the centre of the court. Player creates the space and hits backhand to the deuce corner.

3 cones are set on the baseline (deuce side, centere, ad side) Player starts from the cone on the deuce side The coach feeds balls to the deuce side the player hits forehand cross-court If player makes the zone, player recovers to the next cone If the player misses the zone, they has to come back to the same cone

Player stands on the baseline. Coach feeds balls to the ad side. Player alternates hitting 2 backhands slice deep cross-court and 2 backhands stop shot down the line

Coach feeds an easy ball to the advantage side. Player runs around and hits forehand inside out. Player runs forward to take proper position at the net. Coach feeds another ball to the deuce side. Player finishes with forehand drop volley cross court.

Coach feeds easy balls to the advantage side. The player runs around and hits a forehand inside out/in, aiming for the ball to land between the two cones.

Distance Decides About The Shot

Cones are set vertically on the ad side. Coach feeds the balls to the ad side with different width If the ball lands on the right side from the cones (player's view), player hits regular backhand topspin If the ball lands on the left side from the cones (player's view), player hits backhand slice. Player starts on the baseline. Coach feeds the balls to the forehand side. Player jumps on left leg and executes forehand on left leg.

Don't Be Limited By Your Position

Coach stands inside the service box on the player’s side. Player starts from the baseline. Coach feeds short and high balls to the deuce side. Player sprints forward and alternates hitting attacking forehands using closed and open stances.

Drop And Run

The player stands in one corner of the court, with the coach on the opposite side of the baseline. The coach drops the ball from shoulder height and the player must sprint across the baseline and hit the ball, before returning to their starting position.

Drop Step

Player stays behind the baseline. Player imitates the movement to the right side using a drop step. Drop step means that a player should move their back leg under their body and turn it to the hitting side to improve acceleration onto the ball.

Feed by hand to forehand side

Coach feeds the ball from the T to the forehand side of the player. The player runs to the ball to play the shot and retrieves back towards the middle of the base line before the coach feeds the next ball wide. After 3 or 4 shots the next player.

Feed Variation

Player starts on the baseline with the coach just in front of them, ready to feed the ball to them. The feed should be done in a 4 ball pattern: 1 short forehand, 1 short backhand, 1 deep forehand and 1 deep backhand. The player comes forward to the feed and plays the shot before returning to the baseline ready for the next feed.

Finishing at the net

Purpose: To move in the correct patterns at the net, hitting smash and high volley.   Coach feeds in this sequence- 1) Deep high lob to be smashed 2) Soft high for backhand volley 3) Deep high lob for inside out smash 4) Soft high ball for forehand volley finish   Feed in sets of 8-12

Player holds the racket in left hand Coach feeds the balls to the forehand side Player switches the racket to the right hand and moves to the ball to hit forehand. After the shot, player switches the racket again to the left hand and recovers to the centre

Basket is placed in front of the player with one racket on top of it Player holds other racket and starts the exercise Player switches the racket and moves to the deuce side to hit forehand Players recovers and switches the rackets again before the next repetition

Forehand hitting cross court from 3 zones

Coach feeds 3 balls to the player's deuce side down the line. Standing on the base line, the player moves to their right to meet the ball on their forehand side. The player then returns the ball hitting forehand cross court to the corner of the deuce side between cones. he/she then moves back to the centre of the base line. The coach then feeds the next ball on the players deuce side service line. The player moves foreward and returns using a forehand cross court short to the corner of the deuce side. Player then returns back to the centre of the baseline. Coach then feeds the third ball a few feet beyond the net. Players moves to meet it and agins, using a forehand cross court shot, returns the ball beteen the cones set up on the cross court shot side.

Forehand Pattern With Running Winner

The coach feeds balls from the basket. The first one the player hits a forehand cross court, before running to the other side and hitting a forehand inside out. The final shot is from the other side and is a winner down the line.

Forehand recovery left

Coach feeds the ball to the backhand side, with the player just behind the baseline, slightly to the backhand side.  Player runs out  to the left, around the ball so that they use a forehand instead of a backhand, then recover their position to the starting position and run out for a second and third time. After the third time they go past the middle as though the next shot was coming to their forehand side. For the first two shots they hit the ball crosscourt and then the last one is down the line.

Forehand recovery

Coach feeds the ball to the forehand side, with the player just behind the baseline. Player runs out, hits one forehand, recovers their position to the middle and runs out for a second and third time. After the third time they go past the middle as though the next shot is coming to their backhand. For the first two shots they hit the ball crosscourt and then the last one down the line.

Forehand with quick cones

Player moves around the cones as fast as possible and hits a forehand down the line.
