Tennis: Warm up with TRX equipment

DESCRIPTION

Players perform their regular warm up routines based on running, jump rope and dynamic stretching.

Players rally together to warm up all strokes.

Coach prepares specific exercises to start improving from the beginning:

  • TRX squat drill: Player faces the wall, then maintaining the correct position (tension on the straps, straight upper body), performs a squat. To make it more difficult, the player should bring his/her feet closer to the wall.
  • TRX row drill: Player faces the wall, then maintaining the correct position (tension on the straps, straight upper body) performs a rowing action. To make it more difficult, the player should bring his/her feet closer to the wall.

COACHING POINTS

The first ten minutes of the practice are as important as the last 10 so a proper mental and physical approach is needed to improve skills.

The coach should pay attention to player's focus to ensure they have a professional attitude from the beginning of the session.
