Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • 3 cones are set inside the baseline.
  • Player takes one ball and hops forward on right leg.
  • When close to the cone the player puts 1 ball on the cone and recovers back.
  • Completes the same routine for all 3 cones.

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill player works on balance and body control.
  • Close stance requires a good weight transfer on the right leg so players have to control this leg and be able to balance the body even in unstable situations.
  • Coach should pay attention to the ankles and knees to see if they are aligned with the rest of the body.
  • Additionally it is important to keep the upper body straight to maintain balance and avoid unforced mistakes on the court by bending at waist level.
