Tennis: Hit The Zone & Switch

Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach and player rally together. Coach stands behind the baseline on the deuce side
  • Player stands at the net. Player hits all the balls to the deuce zone. When player hits the zone, coach changes the direction of own shots

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, player works on accuracy while maintaining the rally
  • By keeping the ball in play all the time, the intensity forces player to deal with time restriction and check his abilities to control the racket while legs are getting tired
  • The more changes of direction players have, the better the quality of the drill
  • Players should start this exercise at low pace and after specific number of successful shots, the player from the baseline should start hitting at normal pace to give real balls that net player will have to control during the match
