DESCRIPTION

  • Coach stands in front of the player.
  • Coach and player throw basketball/medicine ball to each other alternating forehand and backhand throws from the open stance.

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill player works on the biomechanics of the forehand and backhand from an open stance.
  • By replicating the hitting actions without the racket, the player can improve the physical aspects that refine the quality of a stroke.
  • To work on strength at the same time, the player should use medicine ball to put more resistance on the body.
