DESCRIPTION

  • Player uses a resistance band. The player stands sideways on the right leg
  • With resistance band outside of the left leg, player performs movement to the side and recovers

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, the player works on their balance and strength at the same time
  • The right leg is used solely as a platform to keep balance while left leg is working against the resistance to strengthen the muscles
  • Players have to remember that shots in tennis require good strength and balance so this exercise prepares them perfectly for the requirements of the game
