DESCRIPTION

  • Player stands in the deuce service box.
  • Coach feeds short balls to the player’s forehand.
  • Player executes forehand drop shots cross-court and down the line

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill player works on controlling the drop shot in different directions.
  • When working on the drop shot, the coach can help the player to hit more successfull shots by shortening the distance to the intended target.
  • By hitting the balls from inside the service box, players are able to control the ball and experiment with different details to start 'feeling' this shot.
  • Players should remember to use the whole body to ensure they maintain the same quality and accuracy wherever they are hitting the drop shot from.
