DESCRIPTION

  • Player sits on the gymnastic ball.
  • Player keeps a dumbbell in their dominant hand above the head.
  • Player bends the arm at the elbow and lowers down the weight behind the back.
  • Player recovers back and repeats the motion.


COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill player strengthens the triceps.
  • Tricep muscles are involved in all the strokes in tennis so it plays an important role in overall tennis performance.
  • Players have to strengthen this muscle regularly to allow for good power generation and possible injury prevention.
  • Players should control the motion and have the proper weight that will allow them to make it technically correct.
