Linsent, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Player takes regular position for the serve.
  • Cone is placed in front of the front foot.
  • Player executes regular serve.
  • Cone gives sensory feedback to the player if they moves their front foot forward too early (makes foot fault).

COACHING POINTS

  • Player works on controlling the front foot while serving.
  • By having the cone in front of the front foot, player has the obstacle that forces them to put focus on the stability of own stance.
  • Additionally, if the player moves the front foot too early, they feel it immediately so they have the constant feedback to assess own serve after every attempt. Players should continue this exercise until they can make many serves in a row without touching the cone.
