DESCRIPTION

Use this drill after "crosscourt theory"

Purpose:

Understanding the importance of width

Coach feeds the ball to begin.

Central third of court is out.

 

Progress to 2 Players rallying full court

Feed underhand for 2 points alternately

Play to 11 points

 

COACHING POINTS

  • Contact of the racquet face on the outside of the ball for cross court
    >Racquet needs to face diagonally to across the court for crosscourt shot
  • Skill - shot selection; understanding attacking and defensive positions, when to go crosscourt or down the line
  • Low to high swing to try to get topspin
  • Finish the stroke over the shoulder
