DESCRIPTION

  • Coach stands inside the service box.
  • Player stands close to the service line.
  • Coach feeds balls to the ad side and moves forward.
  • Player tries to hit backhand lob volley over the coaches racket.

COACHING POINTS

  • This opportunity is created after hitting a good drop shot forcing the opponent to come into the net.
  • It is important for the player to stay in low and dynamic position to be able to quickly react to the incoming ball.
  • Players should use an accelerated motion to apply backspin and hit the ball with a high trajectory.
  • To make this drill more competitive, the coach can set up a deep zone on the court and award 1 point for every good lob that lands into the zone.
