Tennis: Turns with medicine ball.mp4

Thanks for everything! Sportplan has helped me to improve my tennis...
Andrea, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

Player sits on the ground with medicine ball in hands. Player performs turn to the left, leaves the ball, turns to the right and takes the ball. Player uses core muscles to control the movement. Legs should be on the ground at all times.

COACHING POINTS

In this drill, Player works on core muscles. This exercise is related to the topic of the session because open stance requires great upper body turn to generate the power for strokes. By performing this drill, improvement is much easier for Player and ensures the effects of on-court training is visible faster than before. Coach should explain to players how physical preparation is related to improving their game so they understand why they have to work hard not only on the court.
