High point of contact is a basic skill that players have to possess to improve their offensive game. By hitting the ball in this point players minimize their chance to hit into the net as also they don’t have to put as much spin to keep the ball inside the court. Looking at the best players in the world like Nadal or Federer it is clearly visible that many aggressive balls are hit over their shoulders to generate more pace and maintain consistency.
In this drill player works on high point of contact. Proper technical adjustment has to be made to prepare the shot and hit the ball with a decent power. Coach has to teach players to take the backswing with higher racquet position to allow more linear motion of the racquet. Emphasis has to be put also on quick movement to the ball to not allow ball to drop.
