Tennis: Open Stance With Different Contact Points

Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach stands on the players side of the net.
  • Coach feeds 6 balls to the forehand side. 2 high balls, 2 medium balls and 2 low balls.
  • Player moves to the ball and hits 6 shots making sure they use an open stance forehand.

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill the player works on the open stance forehand from different points of contact.
  • With low balls, the player should remember to stay low and apply more topspin to the ball to lift it over the net and still make it drop inside the court.
  • High balls are quite demanding but the players can’t forget about hitting these balls with topspin as well as using the ground force to generate controlled power.
