Player stands in the deuce side service box. The coach feeds the ball to the player over the net, differing the height o the ball each time he feeds it. Player should practise alternating the return using a forehand volley and overhead stroke.
In this drill, the player works on consistency and placement by using forehand volley and overhead stroke. The coach should vary the pace and height of the ball to make it more difficult for the player.
For more advanced players, the coach can set up a zone to hit a particular number of shots into to focus on and strengthen a particular weakness. Adding extra shots into this drill will make it more challenging for the players so they will improve more skills quicker.
