Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • Coach stands on the players side of the net.
  • Coach feeds 6 balls to the forehand side. 2 high balls, 2 medium balls and 2 low balls.
  • Player moves to the ball and hits 6 shots making sure they uses only a closed stance forehand.

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill the player works on closed stance forehand from different points of contact.
  • For most of the shots, the player should try to hit the ball at waist level because this is the most comfortable hitting zone.
  • The coach should pay attention to ensure that the player uses all body parts to prepare for a quality forehand and that the whole stroke starts with low and dynamic position.
  • If the player struggles with any of the points of contact, the coach should indicate the reason and work on this specific aspect to make sure that the player doesn’t have a visible technical limitation.
