Tennis: Approach from the Alley

Your tennis drills are extremely useful coaching tools.
Nail, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

The coach stands in front of the player and throws the ball to the deuce alley. The player sprints, hits forehand approach from the alley and follows to the net.

COACHING POINTS

During highly competitive matches, 1 or 2 balls can make a difference in the final result. It means that players have to practice different difficult situations that can occur during tournament situations. Approaching the net after hitting from the alley happens from time to time during the match so players have to be ready to answer this obstacle successfully.

In this drill, the player adapts to the difficult situation and hits forehand approach from the alley. Learning how to hit on the run from outside of the court is the major goal of this exercise. The coach should emphasize down the line direction of the shot to have a bigger chance to win the point at the net.
