Tennis: Imitate Forehand With Leg's Load

Thank you very much for the marvellous site.
Nick, Tennis coach

DESCRIPTION

  • 1 cone is set on the side of the player and 1 cone is set in front of the player
  • Player imitates forehand from open stance and forehand from close stance
  • While moving to the cone, player loads proper leg and maintains balance on on one leg after the shot

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, player works on feeling the body while executing forehand from different positions
  • In tennis, it is crucial to be able to load one leg to be effective with own shots so players have to work on body control to be prepared for the demands of tennis
  • The better player feels own body, the faster he can execute this exercise to imitate the real pace of the rally
