Description
Cones are set in the deuce deep area. The coach feeds balls to the forehand or backhand and the player hits the ball while avoiding the deep deuce corner.
Coaching points
Playing on high level requires using different tactics while rallying from the baseline. Most of the players have better forehand than backhand so deep balls into the deuce corner doesn't harm them at all. Ability to keep the opponent on the backhand's side or hit the angle shot to the forehand side can force the rival to hit weaker response.
In this drill, the player works on hitting forehand or backhand to different zones than deuce deep corner. The player can work on consistency to the ad side or learn how to hit angle forehand cross court to put the opponent outside of the sideline.
