In this drill player works on hitting backhands from different court positions. During the match player is forced to move away or to the ball to execute shots. This exercise train this ability. By performing backhands from 3 different positions player learns to use different stances and understand tactically when to play with more spin and when it is recommended to look for flat winner. At the beginning coach should throw balls in 3 different directions using set pattern. With more advanced players coach can randomly pick directions or throw more difficult balls to challenge player’s physical and technical skills needed for adaptation.
