DESCRIPTION

  • Coach feeds balls to the backhand side
  • Player hits 2 backhands cross-court, 1 backhand heavy topspin cross-court and 1 forehand inside in

COACHING POINTS

  • In this drill, player works on specific tactical approach to opponent who tries to keep all the balls to the backhand side
  • First 2 shots are regular ones to maintain neutral situation so they should be placed quite deep
  • The third shot is the conscious choice to hit higher and heavier to make opponent hit uncomfortable backhand from high point of contact
  • After this shot, player is ready to react to less-controlled ball and take it with forehand to hit offensive forehand to the deuce side
