In partners, give each child a racket.
Then, using the racket, the children push the ball to each other. They can stop the ball using the racket, then push it back to their partner when in position.
Put cones out as goals to try to hit the ball through.
Score points for stopping the ball going through.
This drill will get the children used to holding the racket correctly and improve hand-eye coordination.
Higher Ability – push ball further away from opponent so they have to move, don’t stop the ball before pushing back, make the goal bigger
Lower Ability – stop with hands, use a bigger ball, make the goal smalle
