Junior Dribbling - Changing pace and direction
Improve dribbling and control by teaching players to use both feet in this dribbling form and ball-mastery confidence session
|
Players have a ball each and must try to perform one keep and then let the ball bounce before repeating this skill.
To start players drop the ball from waist height and then kick the ball back towards themselves with the lower laces part of their boot. They then allow the ball to bounce and then gently kick the ball up again.
Continue this for as long as possible (players can keep count to see if they beat their personal best!)
Eyes on the ball at all times. Ensure players use small footsteps while the ball is in the air so that they are in the right place for the next keep up.
Players should be in control of the ball, not the other way around - if you see players chasing their ball instruct them to pick the ball up and start again.
Progression:
Try to do two kick ups and then let the ball bounce and repeat.
