Basketball: Leave them standing

Set up the same as the original lay up drill. Players in the right line pass to a player in the left line, they then receive the ball back to make a lay up. The left lane gets the lay up and passes to next player without ball in the right lane and joins the back of the right lane. The shooter leaves their shot and joins the back of the left lane. This can be done on the left of right hand sides

Players on the left start with a ball each. Going one player at a time they dribble out into the centre of the court where they meet the defender. The defender should prevent them from moving across the court. Before they get within arm's reach of the defender the attacking player should drive into the key where they have a shot.

Player 1 passes cross-court to player 2 who dribbles towards where the pass came from. Player 1 makes a cut to the basket. Player 2 makes a reverse pivot and passes to player 1 for the shot.

Players are lined up in 2 lines near half way. 2 balls in rotation.  Player from one line runs out to receive a bounce pass from opposing line, players take a shot. 

Players take it in turn to v cut / flash across the lane to the low post area. Upon arriving, the post up correctly and receive pass from passer. player will then perform the designated move. (i) Drop step baseline- power lay up (ii)Drop step inside - jump hook

This is a high pressure shooting drill designed to teach players to hold their ground and shoot under pressure. Rules: Players must shoot from inside the key. No dribbling (once they have the ball they must shoot). Players must make a basket before they can get out of the key in this all against all drill.Once a player scores and gets out a new player must come in (start with 6 players inside the key).

The player will jump off their inside leg and shoot with their outside hand. Once they have shot they will get the rebound and shoot with their other hand on the opposite side of the basket. 4 Minutes - Normal layups with backboard 4 minutes - reverse layups with backboard 4 minutes - normal no backboard 4 minutes - reverse no backboard

Split all your players into two teams and have them line up on opposite sides of the court. 2 basketballs are placed at mid-court. Each player is given a number (eg. 1-5). The coach will set out a basket that each team will shoot at. The coach will call out a number. When the number is called out, the corresponding number will run out to get the ball, dribble to the basket and keep shooting till the shot is made. Once the shot is made the players will run after the ball and dribble it back to the center circle. The first player to score and get the ball back to the center circle wins.

Player one passes the ball so that it reaches player 2's hands as they run out. Once the first pass has been made player 1 runs down the wing looking to receive the return pass before cutting in court to enter the key and have a shot.

Player 1 will pass the ball to player 2. Player 1 will cut around the cone and down towards the next cone where they will receive the ball from player 2. Once the ball has been received, player 1 will dribble towards the baseline and shoot. The players will then switch lines.

Pairs move down and back up the court passing to each other using a bounce pass. When the player with the ball reaches the 3 point line make a bounce pass into the path of the other player. Receiving player scores with a layup.

Pairs move down and back up the court passing between themselves using a bounce pass. Final pass to release shot is a standard pass.

Pairs move down the court and back up passing the ball between themselves using overhead passes. When the player with the ball reaches the 3 point line pass to the other player using a bounce pass. Receiving player scores with a bounce pass.

In pairs pass moving down the court to the halfcourt line and back. When the play with the ball reaches the 3 point line make a bounce pass into the path of the other player. Receiving player shoots using a layup.

Setup as shown. Take ten shots then switch round. Player 2 passes the ball to player 1 who shoots. Player 2 then retrieves the ball and then passes the ball back to player 1 who receives the ball and shoots on the opposite side of the 3 point line.

Player 2 moves around the lane receiving passes from Player 1. Player 2 will shoot (e.g. 10 shots). Player 1 rebounds, passes and keeps score Switch Roles.

Player 1 passes to Player 2, who he then loops. Player 2 bounce passes to Player 1, who drives towards the basket and completes a sucessful layup.

Player 1 recieves a one two from Player 2 before driving towards the basket and shooting

Player 1 will pass to player 2. After the pass player 1 will cut to the bottom of the circle, stop and cut straight up above the free-throw line. Once player 1 is above the free-throw line, player 2 will pass the ball where player 1 will catch and shoot. Player 1 will become the next passer in the corner.

Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 and makes a V cut run, running towards the elbow of the free throw line before cutting in to meet the pass. When player one receives the pass from they shoot from where they caught the ball. If they miss they may follow up with a rebound before playing an outlet pass to player 2 who then passes the ball back into the line of players before joining the back of the queue. Player 1 now takes player 2's role and the dril continues.
