DESCRIPTION

  • Setup as shown.
  • Split the group into three groups.

    • Player 1 passes to player 2 before going to set a lateral screen for player 3. Player 3 cuts off the screen to receive the pass and shoot.

    Off the screen shooting drill | Screening

    Off the screen shooting drill:

    Setup the practice as shown.

    Player 3 runs into the arc and runs off the screen created by player 2 before receiving the ball from player 1, turning and then shooting.

    Player 3 then collects the ball and returns the ball back to player 1.

    2 v 1 Screening:

    Setup as shown. Split the group into two with a further person starting on the cone as shown.

    Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 before giving a handoff pass back to player 1. Player 2 then turns to make a screen, with player 3 making a run, then making a cut before receiving a pass from player 1 and shooting.

    Phantom pick and roll drill | Screening

    Phantom pick and roll drill:

    Players stand in three lines, the players nearest the half-way line start with the ball in hand.

    The blue players starts the drill by making the pass to the white players, and then sets the screen for the red player.

    The red player then cuts off the top of the screen towards the ball. Meanwhile the blue player will reverse pivot and roll towards the basket.


    The White players can choose to pass to either the red or blue player to have the shot.

    Screen on Player with the ball:

    Player 1 passes the ball to player 2 before running forwards to make a screen on them.

    Player 2 proceeds to dribble around player 1 before going for a jump shot.

    Players then rotate (player 1 becomes player 2 and player joins the back of the line).
