Basketball: Rebound Outlet Drill

DESCRIPTION

2 lines of players, one in front of the basket. The other by the sideline.

Basketballs will be in the line in front of the basket. Players in this line will throw the ball up at the backboard, jump as high as they can to rebound the ball.

Once they land, they will do a forward pivot and throw a overhead pass to the outlet line on the side.

Competitive Rebounding:

This drill requires 3 players around the basket with one feeder/coach.

The ball is thrown up at the basket, the players will battle for the rebound.

Continuous Rebound:

Players line up on 3 point line.Throw ball against the backboard and roll away.

Next player jumps to take the rebound and throws it against the backboard again for the next player.

Players must jump then catch and release the ball before they hit the ground.

3 Man Passing Drill 2 Basketballs:

The person in the middle will receive the basketball from the player on the side, once the person in the middle has the ball they will throw it straight back to the same person.

They will then turn to the other side and repeat this.

They will continue to repeat this until they reach the half way line.

Once they get to the half way line the players on the side lines will turn and dribble back.

Once they get around 20 feet away from the basket, one at a time they will perform a "give and go" or 1-2 pass for a lay-up.

Defender in the Middle:

Once the player passes to the opposite line, they will follow their pass and play defense on the player with the ball. The passer will always go to defense.
