Basketball: Cuts off the screen (iii)

Play 2 versus 2 at one basket. No dribbling allowed. Alternate possession. Play to eleven.

Coach has the ball. Players are moving as if in a game. Coach will toss ball on backboard. Defensive players must box out and rebound. Offensive players try to rebound and score.

Set up as shown in video clip. When the ball is on that players side of the court they will deny. When the ball is on the other side of the court, the players will come across and play help defence. Once the ball has been passed to one of those players then they will play 2v2.

Set players up as shown in video clip. The baseline offensive player will drive towards the basket. The help defender will come over and stop the drive. The player with the ball will pass to the other offensive player. The receiver of the pass will shoot the ball. The defensive player will sprint out and challenge the shot.

Set up 4 lines of players, with a line in each corner of the court. Players will play 2v2. Once a shot has been taken the ball is passed to the next pair of players and the previous attacking pair must sprint back to play defence into the 2v2. A continuous drill. The coach can keep score if they wish too.

Blue passes to White Player 1 & screens away from the Red Player The red player cuts to the ball, whilst the blue player rolls to the basket White player 1 can then pass to either player Rebound & rotate

Player 4 passes to Player 3 Player 1 screens for 4 Player 4 then back cut off screen Player 3 then passes to Player 4 for a lay up

Top side or over the top cut 1 has the ball Player 2 will screen for Player 3 who uses the screen as shown. Player 1 may pass to either Players 3 or 2

Player 1 passes to player 3 who is screened by Player 2 Player 1 may then pass to either of Players 2 or 3

Top side or over the top cut 1 has the ball. 2 will screen for 3 who uses the screen as shown. 1 may pass to 3 or 2 Back cut off the screen.

White player 1 starts with the ball and proceeds to pass the ball up the line to the next player and so on. Blue Players 1 and 2 are defenders and can start once the 1st pass has been played. They have to run to protect the basket and stop the white players from scoring. On reaching player 4 the white players 3 and 4 move forward with the ball and try to score. After playing the point out the white players 3 and 4 then become defenders and blue 3 and 4 join the queue of attackers on the other side of the court.

One attacking player sets up near sideline with the ball.  2 defenders set up in line to defend players. Other attacking player sets a screen on first defender. This opens the player up for a pass and a shot or clears the way for a lay up.
