Basketball: Twos and Threes Shooting Drill

DESCRIPTION

Player 1 must shoot and score a 2 point shot, then step back to shoot and score a 3pt shot before moving on to next shooting area.
Player 2 rebounds and passes.
When Player 1 completes the round, it is Player 2's turn and they switch roles.

V Cut Drill

Players make good V cuts, receive pass from player with ball, assume triple threat position. Everyone rotate one spot clockwise.

Elbow shooting drill

The group of players based on the halfway line start by running towards the elbow of the three point line.

On receiving the ball the player should then shoot.

The practice is then repeated on the other side of the arc.

The players need to dribble the ball around the cones until they reach the last cone before excuting a jump shot.

Y Shooting Drill

  • Set up the practice as shown.

  • Split the group in to three.

  • Players in the corners of the court have basketballs.

    • Player 1 sprints straight to the cone in front of them before making a cut either way to then receive a pass from one of the players in the corner. Player 1 then goes onto shoot, before collecting their ball and joining the queue in the corner.


    The player that gave the pass then runs to the join the queue of players on the half way line.
