Basketball: Cut and Corner Dribble - Attacking Movement

DESCRIPTION

Player 1 dribbles towards the corner at the same time player 2 makes a cut across the lane and receives a pass from player 1 in the post area.

Player 2 make a post move and shoots.

    3 Player Pass, Cut and Shoot:

    Setup the practice as shown.

    Player 1 starts with the ball with player 2 making a flash (sprint) cut to the elbow. Player 3 sprints to the cones in front of the before maing an L cut.

    Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2 who pivots and passes the ball to player 3 to shoot.

    Both Players outside the 3 point line start dribbling with the ball towards the outside court.

    Players . 2 and 4 run towarsds each other on meeting they both run of the pretend screen/defender and make them selves available to recieve the ball ( keeping receiving hand up as a target)

    Player dribbling looks up and as soon as the player is available passes the ball. Receiving playersd take a shot and sollect the rebound to pass the ball back to the next two player by the 3 point line.

    3 Man Motion Drill (ii):

    1 passes to 2. p1 v-cut and replace yourself. 2 pass back to 1. 2 & 3 back cut.
    1 pass to 2 or 3. Rebound & rotate anti-clockwise.

    Cross over shooting drill:

  • Setup the practice as shown.
  • Split the group into two teams.
  • First team to score 10 baskets is the winner.

    • On the command both teams dribble to the middle of the 3 point line, cross-over and then shoot. The player that has a shot has to go and get their ball and pass it back to the next person in the queue.
