Basketball: Cross over shooting drill

Sprint shooting session! Get your players to practice shooting accurately at game speed to improve their shooting percentage!

Create space in congested areas with clever movement by the players off the ball. Teach your team how to set the screen to make space for the ball carrier to attack into.

Both Players outside the 3 point line start dribbling with the ball towards the outside court.

Players . 2 and 4 run towarsds each other on meeting they both run of the pretend screen/defender and make them selves available to recieve the ball ( keeping receiving hand up as a target)

Player dribbling looks up and as soon as the player is available passes the ball. Receiving playersd take a shot and sollect the rebound to pass the ball back to the next two player by the 3 point line.

Players set up as shown in video clip. The line of players under the basket will each have a basketball.

1. A pass will be made from the line on the baseline to the line at the top.
   
   
2. Once the pass has been received that player will take a shot. The passer of the ball will run out and do a close out with their hand up to contest the shot.
   
   
3. After the shot has been released they will turn and box out to get the rebound.

Setup the practice as shown.

Player 1 starts with the ball with player 2 making a flash (sprint) cut to the elbow. Player 3 sprints to the cones in front of the before maing an L cut.

Player 1 then passes the ball to player 2 who pivots and passes the ball to player 3 to shoot.

Players join with another group of 3.

One group plays passive defence to start off with.

As the attacking team improves they the defending team progressively become more active.
