DESCRIPTION

The attacker executes a dummy to go left, drawing the defender, before suddenly changing direction and driving off to his right

COACHING POINTS

For beginner players, it is easier for the attacker to know the directions he will go in and for the defender to shadow him

For advanced players, defenders can be more aggressive, simulating a game situation

Player simulating overhead pass and then ball protection.

Footwork and Movement

Drop Step- Reverse Pivot:

There will be 1 passer and 1 Post up/Shooter.

The player posting up will receive the basketball and drop step baseline.

Once they have got close to the basket they will then perform a reverse pivot(the player will pivot on their inside foot). When the player has done the reverse pivot they will shoot a jump hook.

Drop Step Baseline Progression 3:

This drill needs 1 passer and 1 player posting up ready to shoot the basketball, but can be done with more players. The pass will be made into the post, once the player receives the ball they will drop step and shoot. Watch the video to see the footwork of the move.
