Basketball: Straight Dribble Relay

DESCRIPTION

Split the group into equal teams. On the command go, players dribble up to the cone and back. Once they have reached the start they run to the back of the queue and roll the ball through their team mates legs to the front of the queue for the next person to start.

  • First lap use your strong hand then on the second use your weaker dribbling hand.

    Stop / Start Dribble | Dribbling Relay

    Stop / Start Dribble:

  • Split the group into equal teams
  • Place cones at 5m intervals.

    • On the command the players dribble to the 1st cone before stopping and dribbling back to the start (whilst still facing forwards).

    They then progress to dribble to the 2nd cone before dribbling back to the 1st cone and so on. Once they complete the relay they run to the back and roll the ball through the legs of their team mates to the person at the start of the queue.

    Spindle Dribble Drill:

    Start with two lines of players either end of the court. On the command both players go and dribble the ball around the circle before dribbling around the centre circle. They then proceed to the last circle before having a shot.

    Dribble Relay:

    Split the group into equal teams. Set the cones up as shown in the diagram.

    On the whistle players dribble around the cones, when they reach the end the dribble straight back to the end of the queue.

    The player then has to roll the ball through the legs of their team to the person at the front of the queue.

    Foot work relay:

    Players dribble their way through the cones and go back through the slalom to the begining. Before the next person can go.
